our almost 2 year old had hours of imaginative play with this item. is essentially a Doll House as the other guy said. It's very sturdy yet very simple and uncomplicated as most well built wooden toys. I highly recommend this toy over cheaply built but generally expensive electronic toys that have saturated the market.
